Why Radio?

“Every three days the radio is handed off to another community. Where the people gather together to tune into FEBC’s daily broadcasts, the radio is never silent. As it makes its way from village to village, it sows seeds into the hearts of listeners.”

Technology is exploding…The Internet, hand held devices, and social networking have for many of us become our primary sources of information and communication. But in many parts of the world, radios are still considered prize possessions.

For those without access to electricity, those who are persecuted for public expressions of faith, and those too poor to purchase a radio of their own, access to a single radio can be an answer to months, even years of prayer.

That’s why our Give a Radio Campaign has quickly become one of the most important strategies of FEBC’s ministry. FEBC has been distributing portable radios to our listeners for years, making it possible for many to hear the Good News for the very first time.

A small gift of $30 for one wind up or battery powered portable radio can impact the hearts and lives of an entire village. In fact, FEBC international leaders tell us that 25 people are impacted by a single radio in most rural communities. Villagers often stop their work to gather around a single radio to listen to our broadcasts. Your gift can give families--even entire villages access to FEBC’s more than 600 daily hours of Christian programming in more than 130 languages.

Last year alone, FEBC distributed 8,000 radios to places like China, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Russia. From plantations to rice fields to prison cells, that’s a possibility of more than 200,000 people having constant access to the Good News of God’s great love.

So will you join us? Requests from around the world are flooding in and we have an urgent need for 15,000 more radios right now. For your gift of $30, you can transform lives today through the power of God’s Word.

FEBC has received requests for more than 15,000 new radios from the following countries:

  • Indonesia- 5,000
  • Vietnam-5,000
  • Russia-3,000
  • Cambodia-2,000
